At a recent Wednesday evening drill, firefighters practiced Firefighter CPR. The technique, where second counts, involves learning proper extrication of a downed firefighter from the fire; removal of their turnout gear; and the performance of exceptional CPR. Unfortunately, incidents of downed firefighters is becoming more common. This critical training can truly make the difference between life and death.
