Co Alarm on Rt. 6N

By Lieutenant Daniel Palka
March 5, 2010

At 1330 hours, Edinboro was alerted for a carbon monoxide alarm on Route 6N at the Girl Scout building. Engine 382 responded. Assistant Chief 390 (Dahle) arrived on location and assumed command. 382 arrived on scene and crews entered the building with the multi-gas detector. Command advised the crew that the employees have been feeling ill over the last two days. After further investigation, crews found no readings of carbon monoxide in the building and determined that the building had an alarm malfunction. Crews exited the building and all of the employees were able to re-enter. Crews were on scene for about forty-five minutes.
