At 0840 hours, Edinboro, McKean, Cranesville, Waterford (RIT) and CECPA Medic 2 were alerted for a structure fire on Monroe Street. Engine 382, Truck 389, Rescue/Engine 384, Brush 397 and Squad 388 responded with twenty three volunteers. Assistant Chief 390 (Dahle) arrived on scene and found a single story, wood frame, single family dwelling with smoke showing from the delta side. Chief 390 assumed Monroe Street command. After further investigation, Chief 390 reported a working basement fire and stated that everyone was out of the residence. Engine 382 arrived on the scene and entered the basement for extinguishment. 389's crew attempted to search the residence, but due to heavy heat they were unable to and initiated rooftop ventilation. 384's crews split into two crews. One crew pulled a second hand line and entered the front door while the second crew was sent to the roof. While crews were in the middle of extinguishment, 382's crew reported partial floor collapse and all operations became exterior. Command then requested an additional engine from McKean and also an engine from Franklin Township. Crews were able to make a quick knock down. After fire was knocked down, crews re-entered the structure and initiated overhaul operation. Cranesville, McKean and Franklin Township assisted with extinguishment and overhaul operations while Waterford set up R.I.T. on the alpha-delta corner. Nobody was injured during the incident. Crews were on scene for approximately four hours. Mill Village Engine 123 stood by at Station 38.
