At 1949 hours, Edinboro and CECPA Medic 2 were alerted for a motor vehicle accident with entrapment on I-79 northbound at mile marker 168. Rescue/Engine 384, Squad 388, Brush 397 and Fire Police 399 responded with fourteen volunteers. While en-route, Erie County 911 advised units that accident was reported as one vehicle over an embankment. Units arrived on scene and found one vehicle over the embankment with minor damage. Captain 391 (Sheeder) assumed command. After investigation, crews found that the patient was un-injured and was only entrapped inside of the vehicle due to a large amount of snow. The snow was removed from around the vehicle and the patient was extricated. The patient refused treatment and units cleared the interstate. Crews were on scene for an hour.
Crews also handled two minor motor vehicle accidents in the boro and two EMS calls.
