At 0554 hours, Edinboro was alerted for a Rescue to assist Cranesville VFD on a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Route 6N and West Road. Rescue/Engine 384 responded with seven volunteers. While en-route, West County Communications advised that Cranesville L-4 (Snow) had command. Upon arrival, crews found one vehicle on its roof with moderate damage. Command advised that the patient was self-extricated and was being transported to the hospital. Crews secured that vehicle and returned in service. Crews were on scene for an hour.
While returning from Cranesville, Crawford County OES alerted Edinboro, Hayfield and Medic 2 for a motor vehicle accident with injuries and entrapment on I-79 northbound at mile marker 159. Rescue/Engine 384 and Squad 387 responded. 384 arrived on the scene and found one vehicle on its side with moderate damage. Assistant Chief 390 (Dahle) assumed command. After further investigation, crews reported that there were two patients and a dog entrapped in the vehicle with minor injuries. 384's crews quickly stabilized the vehicle and were able to extricate both of the patients and their dog. 387's crew initiated patient care. One patient was transported to Meadville Medical Center while the other patient refused treatment. The dog was un-injured. Crews were on scene for approximately an hour and a half.
