Most Memorable Incident While With EVFD

In April of 2006 we were called to assist station 113 with the truck on a working commercial structure fire. The fire was so large that we could see the header coming through Mill Village miles away. When we got there 389 joined 1139 and 109 (Ladder 1 at that time) in a huge master stream operate. Between the almost 12 hours we were there operating on the scene and the 20 plus fire companies present with well over a hundred firefighters. It was one of the most impressive displays of teamwork, destruction, fire ground water movement and fire equipment I have ever seen in my time with the boro.

What I Like Best About Being a Member of EVFD

I feel that the Edinboro is one of the finest fire departments in the area. The members are very dedicated and possess a true passion for helping others. Even though we are a volunteer fire Department the manner of professionalism and the abilities of our members rival those of paid services.
I just love being among these amazing individuals that make up the Edinboro fire Department. Having the opportunity to serve and protect our community with such fine people is my favorite part of being on the EVFD.

Why I Joined EVFD?

I am a third-generation firefighter. My grandfather, my father all of his brothers and his sister as well as my cousins were or are firefighters and EMTs. I wanted to be a firefighter ever since I was a little kid. So it was only natural to join the boro when I moved here in 2004 for school. I had been a firefighter back in New Jersey, this joining the EVFD very high on my things to do list when I first came to the area. I love having the opportunity to follow my family's footsteps and help the community as we do.

Hobbies and Interests Outside of EVFD?

Baseball (New York Yankees), football (New York Giants), the civil war, paintball, outdoors, camping, hunting, bagpiping, music and a bunch of other stuff but to be honest I spend most of my time doing stuff with the EVFD and I'm perfectly OK with that.
