At 1940 hours, Edinboro along with Cranesville, McKean, Franklin Township, Cambridge Springs, Mill Village, West Ridge (Tower 479), Waterford (RIT) and CECPA Medic 2 were dispatched for a Commercial Structure fire at the intersection of Waterford Street and Ontario Street. Engine 382, Rescue/Engine 384 and Ladder 389 responded. 382 arrived on the scene and reported a single story commercial strip plaza with smoke showing. Kuhl Hose Chief 680 (Erbin) assumed Waterford St. command. With no visible fire showing, 382's crews took several water cans and investigated while the other crews stretched a dry line into the structure. Crews located and reported a fire in a dryer. The fire was quickly contained and extinguished using just 2 water cans. 384 covered the water supply and had its crew check for extension in the adjacent business, while 389 arrived and assisted with ventilation. All mutual aid departments were placed in service. Crews were on scene for two hours. Quick acting by a customer with an extinguisher knocked the fire down prior to the fire departments arrival.
Special thanks to Kuhl Hose for standing by for EVFD while crews were watching fellow members play in the 2nd annual Guns and hoses hockey game.
